Greg Kamansky

Greg Kamansky enters his 25th season (26th year overall) as the head coach of the Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball program in 2025-26.

The winningest coach in CPP men's basketball history, and currently the dean of coaches in the CCAA, Kamansky owns a career record of 470-217, a winning percentage of .687, including a 349-162 mark (.683) in CCAA games. He has taken the Broncos to 14 NCAA tournaments, highlighted by six CCAA Championships, four West Region Championships, two National Final appearances, and the Division II National Championship which CPP captured in 2009-10.

Kamansky was selected as the NABC and Division II Bulletin National Coach of the Year in 2009-10 and is a five-time CCAA Coach of the Year, most recently in 2017-18, and three-time NABC West Region Coach of the Year.

Under Kamansky's reign, CPP has posted winning records in 20 of his 25 seasons at the helm, and has recorded 13 20-win seasons. Prior to Kamansky’s appointment, the Broncos experienced postseason play in just three seasons in the first 52 years of CPP basketball.

Kamansky became the 10th head coach in the program’s history just prior to the 2000-01 campaign after two seasons as an assistant coach for the Broncos.

Before coming to Cal Poly Pomona, Kamansky was an assistant men’s basketball coach and assistant athletic director at Fresno Pacific University from 1993-98, working in every aspect of the Sunbirds’ basketball program.

He was a four-year letterman at UC San Diego and earned NCAA Division III All-America recognition in 1987 and earned all-region honors twice. Kamansky completed his playing career as the school’s second-leading all-time scorer and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Management Science from UC San Diego in 1988. He earned his MBA from San Diego State in 1993.

Kamansky has long ties to the area. His grandfather, Joe, attended Chaffey College and was a San Bernardino County supervisor. His father, Jerry, attended Chaffey High School. Greg Kamansky attended Arcadia High School.
