Davis earns CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine academic honor

Senior setter named second-team all-district

POMONA—Cal Poly Pomona senior setter Jasmine Davis has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/ESPN The Magazine District VIII Academic All-District volleyball second team.

Davis, who majors in Business Management, has been a four-year starter and ranks 4th all-time in set assists (2,983). She is a three-time All-CCAA Academic selection. 

The All-District VIII team is made up of NCAA Division II and III players as well as players from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and two-year colleges. District VIII is comprised of schools from Alaska, Hawaii, California, Washington, Arizona, Idaho, Oregon, Utah, and British Columbia. 

To be eligible, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.3 grade point average and be a starter or key reserve. Student-athletes are nominated and voted by district Sports Information Directors. 

The Broncos (10-15 overall/7-11 CCAA) are on the road this weekend with matches at Cal State L.A. (Friday) and Cal State Dominguez Hills (Saturday).
