Broncos lose 7-2 at UC San Diego in men's tennis

Salvador Romero and partner Kevin Singer won their No. 1 match at UCSD on Tuesday.
LA JOLLA -- The UC San Diego men's tennis team picked up a 7-2 victory Tuesday over Cal Poly Pomona, with the Tritons collecting five straight-set singles wins on the day.

Each squad moved up one spot from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) regional rankings preseason poll positioning. As of March 2, UCSD is ranked No. 3 in the West Region while CPP sits at No. 5. 

The Tritons improved to 6-4, while the Broncos fell to 1-5.

The No. 1 doubles team of Kevin Singer and Salvador Romero gave the Broncos a win with a 9-7 victory over  Austin West/Armaun Emami.

Senior Joshua Lau earned CPP's only singles victory -- arriving at No. 3 with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Jake Fellow.
