POMONA—Bronco student-athletes
Jonathan Williams and
Tokunbo Adeniji have been named the Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center Male and Female Athletes of the Month for May at Cal Poly Pomona.
The awards are voted upon by the student-based Bronco Athletics Association.
Williams completed his Bronco career this past weekend when he competed at the NCAA Track and Field Championships for the fourth time in his career. The Temecula native competed in the 200 meters after qualifying with a 22.01 effort at Cal State L.A. in mid-May. That time is the second fastest in school history and just missed the school record by .01 seconds.
Adeniji earned her second straight PVHMC honor in as many months with a personal-best 55.00 at the NCAA Championships last week. The Pomona native ranks third in school history with her time.
The appearance at the NCAAs was her third consecutive in her career.
Long-time partners with Cal Poly Pomona Athletics, the Sports Medicine Center affiliated with POMONA VALLEY HOSPITAL MEDICAL CENTER helps Broncos stay in the game by offering university athletes a wide variety of services including pre-participation physicals, physician event coverage, complimentary injury screening and consultation, and state-of-the-art athletic rehabilitation for all sports and levels of competition.
