Biography
At UC Davis: Finished 8th in javelin (55.02m, 180-6) at the 2009 Big West Conference Championships for second straight year... Best mark as a junior was 56.21m (184-5) at Cal's Brutus Hamilton Invitational... Placed 8th in javelin (50.28m, 164-11) at 2008 Big West Conference meet... Hit team's 2008 season-best mark of 55.05m (180-7) during Woody Wilson Classic... Had two meet wins as a sophomore: UC Santa Barbara dual and UC Davis quad meet.
At San Joaquin Delta College: Posted JC career-best 167-0 at Big 7 Conference Championships, then placed 6th at NorCal (154-5) and T10th at state meet (159-9) in 2006... Selected as team captain... Also lettered in cross country, competing at conference and NorCal meets.
High School: A 2005 graduate of Lincoln High School, where he lettered in track, cross country and baseball... Helped team win back-to-back Sac-Joaquin Section titles in track... Led team in batting (.456) as a freshman first baseman.
Personal: Son of Brad Walkington and Colleen Luond.... Father wrestled at Sacramento State... Earned undergraduate degree from UC Davis in Sociology, now pursuing Education graduate degree at Cal Poly Pomona... Enjoys working on cars and trucks, hiking and going to the gym in his free time... Favorite team is the U.S. Track & Field squad... Aspires to become a teacher and coach with a future in public relations.
