Biography
As a Junior in 2012: Had another solid year in the 100-, 200- and 400-meter for the Broncos in 2012…Recorded a 13.03 in the 100-Meters at the UC San Diego Dual Meet hosted by UC San Diego on Feb. 18….Earned a 26.07 in the 200-meters and a 59.31 in the 400-meters at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships.
As a Sophomore in 2011: Competed in the 200- and 400-meter events for the Broncos in 2011... Posted a top 200-meter time of 26.58 at Azusa Pacific on Feb. 19... Ran her best 400-meter race of the season at UC San Diego on April 23.... Also a member of the team's top 4x400 relay group that posted a 3:54.01 mark at UCSD.
As a Freshman in 2010: Showed plenty of promise during her freshman season as a Bronco... Recorded CPP's second-best 100-meter time of 2010, crossing the line in 12.97 on March 6 in Turlock, Calif... Also posted strong marks in the 200-meter (26.11) and 400-meter (58.87).
High School: A graduate of Ayala High School, where she competed three seasons... Reached the CIFs all three years in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays... Ran personal bests of 12.6 (100), 26.4 (200) and 59.9 (400)... Named Most Valuable Sprinter in 2008-09, Outstanding Sprinter in 2007-08 and Most Improved Sprinter in 2006-07... Also played soccer.
Personal: Daughter of James and Leslie Whitney... Has a younger sibling named Alia... Animal Science major... Favorite pro teams are the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Galaxy... Favorite pro athletes are Sonya Richards and Kobe Bryant... Enjoys hanging out with friends and family in her free time... Aspires to join the FBI or become a forensic scientist.
