Biography
As a Junior in 2012: Secured third place in the heptathlon at the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championships with a total of 4,293 points… Finished second in long jump with a 16-8 mark, finished third in the 100-meter hurdles with a 15.69 time and second in the high jump with a mark of 5-3.75 in the championships... Raised season best mark in long jump to 5-5 in the Pasadena Games which matches the 10
th best result in the Bronco record books for the event.
At East L.A. College: Received scholar-athlete award for her work in track and field and in the classroom... Won or tied for the top women’s high jump spot in every meet during the 2011 season while competing against top community colleges and also powerful four-year universities from California and from other states.... Increased each jump by 0.05 meters each meet this year, until she matched her Northridge height of 1.70 meters at the Aztec Invitational.... At the Ben Brown Invitational, she recorded the 27th best time in the state for the women’s 100 meter hurdles... Captured the gold medal in high jump at the Mt. SAC Relay meet.
At Mt. San Antonio College: Also enrolled and studied at Mt. SAC.
High School: A 2006 graduate of Diamond Bar High School... Lettered in soccer... Helped the team capture a CIF title in 2005... Also competed in gymnastics, even securing a level nine state championship.
Personal: Daughter of Jeff and Shannon Schmidt... Has a brother named Chris... Kinesiology major... Enjoys gymnastics, swimming, dancing, shopping and hanging out with friends and family in her free time... Favorite pro athlete is Alex Morgan... Aspires to open an athletic training center... Favorite pro teams are the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Dodgers and the U.S. Women's Soccer Team.
