Scott Tsuji begins his 23rd year with the Broncos Athletic Department in 2025-26. As the Assistant Athletics Director for Student Services, Tsuji manages the academic support program and services for Cal Poly Pomona’s 11 athletic teams with more than 250 student-athletes.

In terms of academic success, the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) continues to feature CPP in the All-Academic selection announcement. The 2019-20 CCAA All-Academic Team featured 80 Broncos, the most in Tsuji's tenure. It marked the eighth year in a row that 40 or more Broncos have been recognized for the award. In 2015-16, Justin Ellerbee of men's track and field and Ariel Marsh of women's basketball both earned the CCAA Scholar Athlete of the Year Award. The selection was based upon both classroom and competition performance.

Tsuji was honored in 2009 with the Outstanding Advising Program and in 2005 with the Outstanding Academic Adviser Award from Cal Poly Pomona. He is active at the university and attends as many Cal Poly Pomona athletic events as he can to see the Broncos student-athletes excel on the field and in the classroom.

Tsuji manages the academic support program and services for the Bronco student-athletes and monitors their academic progress and course planning in relation to NCAA, CCAA and University requirements. He also provides assistance and resources for University policies and procedures, academic programs and other campus support services.

He also works closely with the Faculty Athletic Representative and Compliance Officer on NCAA rules, eligibility, compliance and maintaining academic integrity. He is in charge of compiling student-athlete and team academic honors and he meets with prospective student-athletes on recruiting visits.

He came to Cal Poly Pomona from Cal State Northridge, where he served as an Academic Adviser for the Liberal Studies Program and as an Athletics Adviser. He also spent time at the University of Michigan working at Yost Arena – the ice-hockey facility – and within its Sport and Facilities Management Program.

Tsuji earned his bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in counseling.
