NCAA Division II Directors' Cup Standings
POMONA, Calif. – With terrific finishes for the fall sports, the Cal Poly Pomona Intercollegiate Athletics department ranks at No. 7 nationally in the latest Learfield Directors' Cup standings released on Dec. 8.

The Broncos have totaled 189.5 points to rank as the top West Region program. For the fall standings, it also represents the highest national ranking for CPP in department history. Grand Valley State leads Division II with 280 points.
"This is a remarkable achievement and it illustrates the tremendous success of our fall sports," Associate Athletic Director
Stephanie Duke said. "It is also a testament to the dedication of our student-athletes, coaches and staff. The students' commitment to academic and athletic success is what we are most proud of."

For CPP, the cross country programs and men's soccer contributed points in the fall. Â Men's cross country placed eighth nationally to collect 70.5 points, men's soccer finished ninth to earn 64 points and women's cross country took 19th to contribute 55 points.

For men's cross country, it marked the fourth-consecutive appearance at nationals. By placing eighth, the Broncos matched the program's best finish since 1996. Ruben Dominguez took 23rd nationally to earn All-American honors.

Men's soccer finished the 2016 campaign with a 13-6-3 record and reached the West Region title game. Nadeer Ghantous and Sergi Monso received All-American status after putting together impressive performances throughout the year.

Women's cross country reached the NCAA D-II National Championships for just the third time in program history. Senior Calene Morris proved to be a consistent leader for CPP and to help the Broncos reach nationals, she placed 13th at the West Region Championships to earn postseason honors.

The next NCAA Learfield Directors' Cup standings update will be released on Dec. 22.
