NSCAA Men's Soccer All-American Roster

POMONA, Calif. - After leading Cal Poly Pomona men's soccer to the West Region title game, Nadeer Ghantous and Sergi Monso received NCAA Division II All-American honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) 

Ghantous, a sophomore defender from Hifa, Israel, earned a spot on the NSCAA All-America Second Team while Monso, a junior from Barcelona, received All-America Third Team recognition. Last month, the same duo collected All-West Region First Team accolades from the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA). 

The Broncos went 13-6-3 overall this season, topping Sonoma State in the NCAA First Round and then advancing past No. 3-ranked Simon Fraser with penalty kicks in the second round.

As a 6-foot-3 defender, Ghantous provided leadership to the CPP defense that collected 12 shutouts this year. Two of those shutouts came in the NCAA D-II Tournament. Other than starting goalkeeper Jason Trejos, Ghantous tallied the most minutes on the team with 1,895. Ghantous registered an assist in the regular season finale.

Monso totaled 12 goals and four assists for a team-leading 28 points. Seven of his 12 scores were game winners. During the opening round of the NCAA Tournament in Seattle, Monso tallied both of the Broncos' goals in the 2-0 victory over Sonoma State. In a seven-game span from Sept. 10 through Sept. 28, Monso posted eight scores.

CPP head coach Yossi Raz has now coached seven All-American student-athletes during his tenure. Prior to the arrival of Raz, the Broncos' men's soccer program only had three All-American selections in its history.
