Sarah Macias is in her seventh year at Cal Poly Pomona in 2025-26, and her fourth as the Assistant Athletics Director of Marketing and Creative Services. For the first three years at CPP from 2019 to 2022, she served as the Facilities & Events Coordinator for the department.
An active member across campus, Macias serves on committees with numerous departments working to build relationships, collaboration, and partnerships that support Bronco student-athletes. Macias advises two Cal Poly Pomona clubs, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and The Herd (student section).
Macias came to Cal Poly Pomona from Sonoma State University where she served as the Seawolves' Sports Information Coordinator for the 2018-19 academic year. At Sonoma State, Macias oversaw all aspects of internal and external communications for the 14 intercollegiate sports programs, including the department's website and social media accounts. She also supervised the game day student event staff and handled much of the game operations aspect for SSU athletics.
Prior to her time at Sonoma State, Macias, who is a native of West Covina, Calif., spent two years (2016-18) at Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, Calif. as the first graduate assistant in the sports information office where she obtained a Master's degree in Leadership with an emphasis in Sport Management and Integrated Leadership in May of 2018.
Macias graduated from Wayne State College (Neb.) in May 2016 with a Bachelor's degree in Sports Management. As an undergraduate at Wayne State College, Macias worked with the Sports Information Director assisting with statistics for football, soccer, volleyball, and basketball. She also worked with the athletic department's Facilities Director to assist with game operations for halftime promotions, tailgates, and luncheons. An avid member of her college's sports club fundraising for charities, Macias helped put together events promoting student attendance at athletic events, and she also wrote for the sports section of the Wayne State student newspaper.
Macias played four seasons of softball for the Wildcats, who compete in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NCAA Division II).
